How computer consulting has evolved to meet business challenges
Insight Enterprises Inc. has seen a radical shift in the computer consultant industry during the past five years. Where before technology was a single department in the business, now tech is becoming the business, said Insight CEO Ken Lamneck. “Selling the latest device forms like tablets is a much larger conversation about workforce enablement, and we are even moving toward the concept of device-as-a-service,” said Lamneck. Tempe-based Insight holds the top spot on the Phoenix Business Journal’s computer consultants list. “All these elements create a need for infrastructure optimization as we help our clients prepare for what their business needs (are) next,” he said.

Insight President and CEO Ken Lamneck said the company’s record earnings were due to its strong execution in the market, a healthy information technology market, the Datalink acquisition and the gaining share among competitors. “It’s a combination of everything coming together,” Lamneck said. Net sales in North America of $1.3 billion were up 24 percent year over year.
